ABOUT DAS CLARKS

Das Clarks is a Wales-based performance collective creating theatre, art and participatory experiences that challenge perceptions and inspire change. For over 20 years, we’ve been making playful, political and inclusive work rooted in the communities around us and always with a DIY spirit.

Born in Newport and shaped by its post-industrial landscape, our work lives in streets, prisons, festivals, living rooms, and theatres. We believe in using what’s available — space, materials, stories — to make something honest, interactive, and human.

Amplifiying unheard voices

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

We make original theatre and performance art that amplifies unheard voices, sparks meaningful conversations and encourages people to see themselves, their futures, and their environments in new ways.

Our work includes:

  • Creating original and site-specific theatre, performance, and music

  • Touring nationally and internationally, including five shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.

  • Delivering participatory arts projects in prisons, recovery services and public spaces

  • Supporting people of all backgrounds — performers or not — to tell their stories

  • Curating exhibitions and creative events that celebrate local artists

  • Facilitating creative workshops and mentoring across educational and community settings
